Kristie Reed
A design for the future.
Education played a huge role in setting Kristie on a path to a bright future. Discovering drafting helped her find a job that she loves and gave her the opportunity to buy her first home. After Kristie’s husband supported her through an unexpected heart attack, she was able to surprise him with a great gift of thanks.
Clifton Smith
Welding was just the beginning.
As a young man, Clifton struggled to make ends meet. This wasn’t anything new in his neighborhood. Which is why he eventually turned to selling drugs. It wasn’t until he was sent to Angola Prison that he knew he had to make a change. In doing so, he found his true passion: welding.
Allen Nguyen
Coming home to cook.
Before he even considered cooking as a career, Allen wasn’t even in Louisiana. But when his father fell sick he decided to come back to New Orleans for good. In between caring for his father and working, Allen found the kitchen was his sanctuary. Over time, it became his greatest source of happiness, and that’s when he knew he’d found his calling.
