What You'll Do

As a Deckhand/Sailor and Marine Oiler, you’ll:

  • Operate and maintain equipment and gear on your vessel as directed by the captain, mate or pilot
  • Stand watch
  • Look for obstructions in the path of your vessel
  • Handle pumps, hoses, mooring cables, winches and hoists
